She scored two goals in just eight games helping to guide the magicJack to a third place finish in the league that season. The magicJack was disbanded at the end of 2011 and the WPS folded in early 2012. Rapinoe played for a short time with Sydney Football Club FC (Australian W-League) in the year 2011, prior to going back home to United States. In the following year, she was a player with the Seattle Washington Sounders Women - which is now Sound FC. The 2013 season of Rapinoe was doing soccer with France. After the WPS was disbanded and she joined Seattle Reign FC (now OL Reign) of the National Women's Soccer League NWSL. In 2016, she played in the Rio de Janeiro Olympics. In Rio, the U.S. lost in the quarterfinals. Her participation in the FIFA Women's World Cup began in 2011. Her contribution contributed to in helping the U.S. Women's World Cup achieve successive titles between 2015 and 2019. She was named cocaptain in 2018. Rapinoe won two bronze medals in the United States' 4-3 win over Australia at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. Japan has been postponed until 2021 because of the COVID-19 virus epidemic.
